Important information for International students

Important information for International students

We know that there’s a lot to take in when starting a new course. In order to make the process as easy as possible, please ensure you read through the following information carefully.

What to bring with you on your first day

Please bring the following documents, so that we can register you on the course:

  • Evidence of your Secure English Language Test (e.g. IELTS)
  • Passport
  • UKVI Visa decision letter
  • Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)  (If already collected)
  • Qualification documents
  • If your visa vignette was not stamped on arrival to the UK, please bring your flight tickets or other proof of travel

Obtaining your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)

When completing your student visa application form, you will need to enter our Alternative Collection Location Code (ACL) - (ACL) 3HE362 - in order to collect your BRP (Biometric Residents Permit) from Buckinghamshire New University. Alternatively you can collect it from a Post Office. The closest Post Office to Buckinghamshire New University is: 3 Castle St, High Wycombe HP13 6RZ

You are entitled to work no more than 20 hours per week during your study at the university. Please note the main purpose of the Student Visa route is for students to come to the UK to study. Where a student is permitted to work, the intention is that this should be an opportunity to gain work experience in their field of study.

Any errors on your Student Visa (vignette and BRP) must be corrected. Please contact a member of staff at the International Team should you have any queries and they will be able to assist you.

International Student Pre-Arrival form

Please confirm your travel arrangements to the university at least five working days before you travel to the UK, even if you are making your own travel arrangements.

You can provide your travel and accommodation details via your CAS shield account, alternatively you can COMPLETE OUR ONLINE PRE-ARRIVAL FORM

If you have any questions about starting at BNU, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
