Video Studios and Edit suites

Students in the College of Creative Arts, Technology and Engineering at Buckinghamshire New University learn with the same tools as the professionals to give them an edge when entering the demanding media job market.

Our video studio spaces also include audio-visual editing suites, which include Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Final Cut Pro X, Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer. Avid and other audio-visual sequencer/plug-ins and related software on iMac Pros and i9Macs. They have Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Mini Panels for colour correction work and separate 4K computer screens. The suites are acoustically treated and sympathetically lit.

 

 

 

Video Studio 1 is 100m2 in size, and is a multi-camera facility with optional use of a large green screen (2 x 8m/9m walls and full floor covering). The studio has a full TV lighting rig with the option of control from the studio. This can be complemented by the vast array of camera and lighting equipment available from our media resources department.

URSA Mini Pro 4.6K, AG-HPX301E, AG-HPX371E, AG-HPX171E, AG- Panasonic HMC41E, Canon XF305, Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 60D, Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K, Sony A7R Mark III, GoPro Hero 7, GoPro Fusion 360, ZCAM E2 6K.

Our stock of lighting includes 1000 watt ARRI Fresnel lights, 800 watt Photonbeard Redheads, 150 watt DLH4 Dedo lights, 2000 watt Photonbeard Blonde lights, LED panels, Kino Flo Diva Lite fluorescent lights, Lastolite light reflectors, Strobe lights, Soft Boxes for Photonbeard and Dedo lights, Aputure camera top LED lights.

We also have extensive sound equipment from the brands Sennheiser and Sound Devices.

Video Studio 2 is 75m2 in size. It is used as a teaching space and also as a Foley recording studio by students on some music courses. There is a full HD gallery including vision mixer and sound desk, lighting controls, monitors and everything you need for live camera and audio vision mixing. We have a four camera live broadcast set up with Grass Valley LDK6000 cameras and EVS action replay/asset management system with two XT3 servers.

Also known as our drama studio, this flexible studio can be configured for performance or film and audio capture.

Drama Studio 2 is located in the West Wing.

The two main video teaching rooms are equipped with i9 iMacs, while our three individual video edit booths are equipped with iMac Pros. The software that they run includes Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Final Cut Pro X, Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer. They each have Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Mini Panels for colour correction work and separate 4K computer screens.
