Flying High at Pilot Careers Live

Flying High at Pilot Careers Live

Jacob, a final year student studying Air Transport with Commercial Pilot Training, had the exciting opportunity to attend the recent Pilot Careers Live event in London and share his experience on being an aviation student here at BNU.

Pilot Careers Live will always remain one of my favourite exhibitions to attend, and this was the first time I was wearing the exhibitor pass, having been to the event before as a guest. I remember attending the event back in 2017, and it was how I first found out about Buckinghamshire New University and the degrees that it offers. Therefore, I will always remain grateful for events like this.

This year, the event was held at Heathrow Airport. It provided the chance to meet the world’s leading approved training organisations and commercial flight schools and talk to them about what education and services they offer. In addition to this, airlines attended to chat to future pilots, and host seminars to provide exciting insights into the aviation sector, and answer questions about life in the industry.

I had an amazing time being an exhibitor, it was a great to be able to network with many recognisable individuals and meet them for the first time, as well as show my face to possible future employers. This is an example of the kinds of opportunities that are available to you as an aviation student here at BNU. This event saw first year, Dom, master’s student Najma and alumni Meharpreet join me as representatives of the University.

I would thoroughly recommend current students to attend events like this as it allows you to research flight schools for the remainder of your training and to talk to airlines which you may want to join. In addition to this, prospective students can use this opportunity to ask the University any questions you may have, and to do your own research into the flight training journey and the different pathways that are offered.
