Timothy Ishaku

Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2022, I have served as Professional and Placement Lead for the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy course and teaches in different Higher Education within the UK. Timothy has been involved in facilitating interprofessional education and improving students’ outcomes using “customer-centric approach” across the Allied Health Professions. I have worked with different healthcare facilities as a specialist clinical neuro-physiotherapist both within the UK and internationally.

I obtained my Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy) from University of Maiduguri, MSc in Physiotherapy (Neurorehabilitation) from Nottingham University and a Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice in Higher Education from Coventry University. I am a certified external examiner by the Advance HE and have been awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. I am both a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapist and Association of Chartered Society of Physiotherapist in Neurology.

My career highlight to date is my ongoing work on improving student experience using co-design methodology.
