Tim Ibbotson

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2022, I was a police officer with West Mercia Constabulary and The Metropolitan Police in frontline policing, Public Order Policing and as Operations Manager for North West London.

I studied for my BA (Hons) English Language degree at The University of Central Lancashire. My specialist area of interest is policing, especially Public Order policing. My specialist knowledge has led me to work events such as the Golden and Diamond Jubilees for Queen Elizabeth as well as being deployed throughout the 2011 Riots and 2012 Olympic Games. I also worked at the G7 Conference in Cornwall and COP26 in Glasgow in 2021.

My career highlight was being selected to be on full ceremonial duties in Horse Guards Parade for the Trooping of the Colour Ceremony, being the Inspector in charge of the units deployed in this specialist front line role.
