Biography
  • Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2018 I was a Local Authority SENCO and Early Years and Primary Inclusion Facilitator – I specialised in special educational and inclusive educational support and child bereavement. Within my role I would train and give advice to setting, school staff and parents on SEND intervention. Prior to that I was an Early Years setting manager where I studied for my BA in Childhood Studies at BNU. Prior to that I worked for British Airways as a Global Training Manger – I managed a team of international trainers who would deliver the companies strategies local to their area. This gave me the opportunity to travel globally and embrace our colleagues worldwide. My first job was as a Department Manager for a national department store.

I studied for my qualifications at Buckinghamshire New University – BAHONS Childhood Studies Education Primary and Early Years. Uxbridge College Levels 3 and 4 Childcare. Acton Technical College BETEC Retail and Marketing Management.

My specialist area of interest/research is Special educational needs and inclusive practice – including safeguarding child bereavement. It is interesting because I am able to share my practice (Occupational) with my students first hand. My specialist knowledge has led me to work with Young Minds, Child Bereavement UK Mental Health UK. NSPCC local schools and settings. I regularly volunteer with a local complex needs charity providing rest bite for parents.

My greatest accolade to date/My career highlight is Returning as an alumni delivering the course I received my BAHONS degree in.
