Biography
  • Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2025, I worked as a Practice Educator supporting Internationally Educated Nurses, alongside my role as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, a position I held from October 2022.

Before relocating to the UK, I worked in Ghana as a Health Tutor in the Nursing and Midwifery Training College from 2012, following my earlier experience as a Mental Health Nurse from 2009 to 2012.

I studied for my nursing and health education qualifications in Ghana, where I trained as a Mental Health Nurse and later qualified as a Health Tutor. My specialist area of interest and research is in reproductive health and maternal mental health. This area is particularly important to me due to its critical role in shaping family wellbeing and long-term mental health outcomes for both mothers and their children.

I am a registered member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

My specialist knowledge has enabled me to work closely with internationally educated nurses (IENs), supporting their transition into the UK healthcare system. I have collaborated with NHS Trusts on projects focused on workforce integration, retention, and professional development.

My greatest career highlights include successfully integrating and retaining a diverse group of IENs into an NHS Trust by providing targeted support and mentoring, an initiative that contributed significantly to workforce sustainability and resilience. I also take pride in contributing to a 100% pass rate in students' NMC Licensure examinations, reflecting a strong commitment to excellence in education and practice.
