Biography

Before I joined Buckinghamshire New University in 2019, I worked at the BBC for 20 years in a wide variety of roles. I was technical producer and online editor for Video Nation, which was one of the first programmes to utilize user-generated content. I also worked on the flagship technology programme, “Click”, writing and producing features for the show which is broadcast to a world audience in excess of 100 million. My specialist knowledge led me to become a production trainer for the prestigious BBC Academy, teaching across a wide range of subjects and disciplines.

I studied for my degree in Radio, Film and Television Production at Canterbury Christ Church University and my MA in Communications and Technology at Brunel University. I specialised in editing but have a passion for all areas of production. I have experience   teaching across a wide range of subjects and disciplines, including areas as diverse as news, sport, drama, radio and digital.

My career highlight to date is as assistant director at the World Athletic Championships Opening Ceremony in Athens, which was broadcast live to an audience of 20 million.
