Sian Hayes

Before re-joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2013, I was (and still am) a nurse practitioner, working part time in a local general practice.

I studied for my Bsc Hons Nurse Practitioner degree at London South Bank University to enhance my career in primary care. I then completed my independent nurse prescribing qualification in 2002 at Reading University. In 2008, after I originally joined Buckinghamshire New University, I completed by MA in Learning and Teaching in Midwifery, Health Visiting and Nursing.    

I am a Queens Nurse and part of the Association of General Practice Nurse Educators.

My specialist knowledge has led me to work with the AAGPNE and HEE on the standards of Education for General Practice Nurses and we are working towards the specialist qualification with the NMC.

My greatest accolade to date is becoming a Queens nurse member of the QNI.
