Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in January 2020, I was working as a specialist midwife in safeguarding and in public health and in my nursing career I was a gynaecology nurse.
I studied for my Master’s in Public Health at South Bank University, giving me good insight into how public health is applicable in the role of the nurse and midwife and the process of development programmes and interventions to address public health issues. I achieved a BSc in Midwifery from Kings College University and my Nursing BA was at Middlesex University. My specialist area of interest is women’s health and public health. It is interesting because it is an area that I can relate to and had a hope that one day I would find ways to address certain ailments related to women’s health.
I am a member of Higher Education Academy (HEA)/ Advanced HE.
My specialist knowledge has led me to work with such as the Sure Start Programme and Safeguarding.
