Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2020, I was working with Health Education England as a Physician Associate Ambassador Regional Lead as well as working as a registered Physician Associate in General Practice and Neurology, which I continue to do. Throughout my working life as a Physician Associate, I have worked closely with students at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, acting as a mentor in providing support and teaching opportunities.

I completed my PGDip Physician Associate studies at University of Reading in 2017, after earning a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences. As a Physician Associate in Neurology, I have also been trained in specialist procedures such as Botulinum Toxin injections for Cervical Dystonia and HemiFacial/Blepharo-spasm and nerve blocks.

I am a member of the Faculty of Physician Associates (FPA) and Royal College of Physicians. Moreover, I am registered on the Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register, held by the FPA which will soon be taken on by the General Medical Council as statutory regulation.

My career highlight to date has been working with medical employers, NHS organisations, qualified Physician Associates and education providers as a HEE Physician Associate Ambassador Regional Lead to increase support for PA employment, supporting working PA’s and putting PA’s in the spotlight, highlighting their integral role in the medical workforce. In addition to my ongoing passion in my clinical work providing medical care to patients, and training the next generation of competent, caring, and enthusiastic Physician Associates.
