Biography
  • Dr Leah Fox is an executive academic leader with extensive experience across higher education, organisational leadership, and international collaboration. Her career spans multi‑campus operations, transnational education delivery, regulatory assurance, and large‑scale academic transformation across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and South‑East Asia.

    Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2024, she held senior roles at the University of Portsmouth, where she taught across psychology, leadership, organisational resilience and decision‑making. Her work has consistently centred on strengthening institutional capacity, driving academic quality, and building systems that enhance student experience and organisational performance.

    Leah’s career has developed across three interconnected domains: higher education leadership, applied consultancy, and international security‑focused research and practice. She has led global collaborations with governments, regulators, aviation and security organisations, contributing to capacity building and evidence informed policy development.

Qualifications
  • Dr Fox completed her PhD in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, where my research focused on organisational behaviour, decision‑making and applied psychology. She also holds an MBA from the University of Warwick, a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice (Distinction) from the City University of New York (USA) and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice & Judicial Studies from the same institution.

Research Interests/Academic Interests
  • Decision‑making in complex organisations, leadership practice, organisational resilience, and capacity‑building within operational and regulatory environments.

External Positions/Memberships
  • Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Contributor to multiple international governmental and regulatory bodies across aviation, security and investigative governance.
