Biography
  • Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2026, I worked at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust as a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist in stroke rehabilitation and neurological conditions, as well as Occupational Therapy Team Leader for stroke rehabilitation.

Prior to this, I worked at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust as a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist across community neurological rehabilitation, hand therapy, and rheumatology outpatient services. My role also included inpatient and community rheumatology and neurology rehabilitation, brain injury rehabilitation, and leading wheelchair services as the lead therapist. In addition, I organised and delivered moving and handling and risk assessment training for the occupational therapy and physiotherapy services within the trust. I also served as the BAOT union representative for the trust for fifteen years. Earlier in my career, I completed rotational posts across acute psychiatry, physical and mental health services for older adults, rheumatology, and acute general medicine.

Alongside my work within the NHS, I worked with several private training organisations, delivering postgraduate training for allied health professionals, as well as with charities providing a range of training programmes for members of the public. I have also undertaken medico-legal assessments within private practice.

Alongside my current role at Buckinghamshire New University, I continue to maintain a clinical role as an occupational therapist in private practice. My specialist area of interest is neurological rehabilitation. I am a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists

I completed my occupational therapy diploma at the London School of Occupational Therapy, followed by an Honours degree with the Open University and a Master's degree at Birkbeck, University of London. I have contributed to the writing and illustration of several patient education publications and Occupational Therapy textbooks.

Outside of my professional work, I have a keen interest in history and have published historical articles in several editions of Militaria. I also volunteer as a castle guide for the Berkhamsted Castle Trust and am an active member of several local history societies.
