Estabraq Makiyah

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2023, I was working as a Lecturer in Networking and Communications at the University of Information Technology and Engineering in Baghdad and Iraq. I used to deliver lectures in Networking fundamentals, Advanced Multimedia, Image Processing, Broadband Communication, Mobile Computing and Computer Networks Administration.

I used to be a Network Administrator at my university supervising and maintaining internal networks, as well as administrating university’s Datacenter. The role demanded Configuring and administrating network devices as well as Network Troubleshooting.

I studied for my Ph.D. at Al-Nahrain University and my specialist area of interest/research is Augmented Reality-based Application over Wireless Channel. During my Ph.D. study, I have published and submitted many research papers in the field of computer vision and 5G channel communications.

My specialist knowledge has led me to work on many researches and participate in international conferences. My greatest accolade to date is delivering knowledge to a large number of students that have now graduated with significant experience, as well contributing to the university’s curriculum.
