Emma Banks

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2019, I had over fifteen years’ experience of working, designing and teaching within the kitchen industry.

I studied English and Philosophy at The University of Leeds, before joining the kitchen industry as a junior designer. During my career I have achieved professional qualifications in Marketing, and in Learning and Development, as well as gaining invaluable industry experience through designing kitchens and teaching others.

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

My greatest achievement to date is raising awareness of true inclusive design across the building industry by running learning events and providing resources for architects, occupational therapists, surveyors, and designers.
