I joined Buckinghamshire New University in 2023 following over 20 years of experience within the NHS, most recently as a Senior Diagnostic Radiographer at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
My healthcare career began as a Radiography Assistant, before progressing to Health Care Assistant, Assistant Practitioner, and ultimately graduating as a Diagnostic Radiographer from the University of Hertfordshire in 2011. My main interests lie in orthopaedics and plain film image interpretation, as well as the practical teaching of students during clinical simulation.
Alongside my clinical practice, I have pursued advanced academic and teaching qualifications. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Red Dot Reporting of the Appendicular Skeleton and a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PG Cert LTHE). I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), reflecting my commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship.
I am a member of both the Society & College of Radiographers and the Health and Care Professions Council. My greatest accolade to date is graduating as a mature student with two young children, achieving my PG Cert LTHE and FHEA, and having the opportunity to work alongside leaders in radiology while providing practical teaching and mentorship to students from a range of universities during their clinical placements.
