Donna Collins

Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2023, I was working as a senior diagnostic radiographer at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

I have been working in the NHS for over 20 years having started my career as a Radiography Assistant and following that as a Health Care Assistant. Thereafter I became an Assistant Practitioner and finally graduated as a diagnostic radiographer from the University of Hertfordshire in 2011. My main area of interest has been orthopaedics and plain film image interpretation.

My interest in these led me to working with some of the top orthopaedic radiologists and orthopaedic surgeons in the country. During this time, I also studied and gained a PG Certificate in Red Dot Reporting of the appendicular skeleton.

I am a member of the Society & College of Radiographers and the Health and Care Professions Council.

My greatest accolade to date apart from graduating as a mature student with two small children is having had the opportunity to work alongside leaders in the field of radiology and teach students from a range of universities during their placements.
