Before joining Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) in 2023, I worked as an Early Years Lead in Nursery and Reception in a primary academy. Before that, I worked in early years for several years, in a variety of roles and settings mostly within private and school based education.
I studied for my BA (Hons) in Child development at BNU and obtained a BA (Hons) Law while I was living in Hungary, and I am a member of ECDN with Birmingham University. My specialist area of interest is early years and social and emotional learning. It is interesting to me because despite often being overlooked, it is the most fundamental developmental stage.
My specialist knowledge has led me to work with external stakeholders such as the Canadian company, Captains & Poets on projects such as research into social and emotional learning. I've worked with teacher training companies such as Astra to deliver ITT conferences.
My career highlight was receiving the most inspirational tutor award after my first year at BNU, as voted by the students. It means a huge amount to me that my work is appreciated by the students.
