You should receive an email confirmation and will be able to log back onto your Ede and Ravenscroft account to view your order. Everything must be ordered by 12 noon Friday 7 June 2024.

We strongly recommend you register to attend to ensure your space even if you have not received your results yet. If you are not made an award of the University by the Board of Examiners by Thursday 27 June 2024, then you can request a refund of your tickets by the refund deadline. You must have been made an award to attend graduation. Those with referral work to complete can request a refund for their tickets and will be offered a place at the next available graduation ceremony for their course. Please the information on refunds.

If you arrive late and we are still able to include you, you will be allocated a different seat to the one on your ticket. You will still be presented on stage but at a later point to the rest of your cohort. If you arrive too late or at the end of the ceremony, you will be unable to be presented on stage.

Please note you cannot make purchases on this app, you can only view the order you made via the Ede and Ravenscroft website.

Deadline: Deferral requests must be made by completing the online form by Friday 2 August 2024.

If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony date, our standard process is that you will graduate in absentia and will not be invited to another graduation ceremony.

In exceptional circumstances, we may be able to defer you to the next available graduation week, but please note things such as a holiday do not count as exceptional circumstances. If you are unable to attend your graduation and feel this is due to exceptional circumstances, please complete this online deferral form fully by Friday 2 August 2024.

If we have any questions about your form or are not able to defer you, we will contact you via email. If you do not hear from us by the end of August 2024, we will be inviting you to the next available graduation ceremony. No dates are confirmed at this stage, so please keep an eye on the website. If you are unable to attend the second graduation, you would not be able to request to defer for a second time so you would graduate in absentia and would not be invited to another graduation ceremony.

Please note that each situation is processed on an individual basis.
Requests to defer from July 2024 graduation must be made by Friday 2 August 2024. Requests made after this date will not be possible.

If you request to defer after you have purchased tickets and gown hire, please ensure you request your refund by the deadlines. Refunds will not be possible after the deadline and bookings cannot be transferred to a future graduation ceremony, you would need to rebook.

Deadline: Tickets must be purchased by 12 noon Friday 7 June 2024.

You are advised to book and pay for your guest tickets when you register via the Ede and Ravenscroft website.

Each graduating student can book up to 3 guest tickets in the Wycombe Swan and 3 tickets to the Live Streaming Room, subject to availability. Tickets are sold on a first come first served basis and are not guaranteed, so you are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

Additional tickets, above your initial allocation may be available for your ceremony but please note this is not guaranteed. If extra tickets are available, they can be purchased on a first come first served basis on the day of your ceremony during your registration period.

Guest tickets in the Swan Theatre

You cannot purchase tickets for a specific area of the theatre. We will try to ensure family groups sit together, although we cannot guarantee this if your guests require special access, or you purchase additional tickets later in the process.

Should you wish separate seating for your guests in different parts of the theatre, please let us know during the booking process and by emailing graduation@bnu.ac.uk. Whilst we will try to accommodate this, we cannot guarantee it.

Guest tickets for the live streaming of the ceremony at the High Wycombe Campus

Some guests may prefer to watch the ceremony via live streaming, we are introducing a quieter room where we intend to show the live stream of the ceremony at our High Wycombe Campus (you will not be watching it live at the Swan). These tickets include access to the celebration and refreshments after the ceremony so you can join the rest of your group.

There are a limited number of these tickets available for each ceremony. Your guest ticket purchases will be confirmed by e-mail. If you do not receive an e-mail the tickets may not have been successfully purchased. Please check clutter and spam folders for the email. If you have any technical issues, please contact Ede and Ravenscroft directly.

Additional tickets, above the initial allocation may be available for your ceremony but please note this is not guaranteed. If extra tickets are available, they can be purchased on a first come first served basis on the day of your ceremony during your registration period.

As you collect your tickets from registration, you can ask if there are additional tickets available to watch the ceremony live in the Wycombe Swan Theatre and/or in the Live Streaming Room at the High Wycombe Campus.

If you would like to purchase additional guest tickets for the Wycombe Swan Theatre and they are still available, once you have registered (and we recommend collecting your gown hire), please make your way to the Box Office at the Wycombe Swan Theatre. You will need to show your graduating student ticket (for the stalls) to ensure you are eligible to buy guest tickets and then, subject to availability, you will be able to purchase additional guest tickets. You will be given refreshment tokens alongside your tickets so please keep your tickets and tokens safe.

If you would like to purchase additional guest tickets for the Live Streaming Room at the High Wycombe Campus, you will be directed to a member of the staff in registration who can help with this. You will request how many tickets you require, which will be marked on a slip and you will be directed to our main reception to make payment. Once you return to the member of staff at registration with your receipt to evidence payment, you will be given your tickets. You will be given refreshment tokens alongside your tickets so please keep your tickets and tokens safe.

If you no longer require tickets you have purchased, the University cannot resell these for you. If you are unable to attend, please see our refunds information.

The ceremony in the Swan is not recommended for infants and young children under the age of 5 years old. We recognise you may wish your children to attend your graduation but the ceremony is not aimed at children so they may find it challenging to sit through the speeches or become overwhelmed with the loud noise during the clapping/cheering. Please think carefully about if your child(ren) will be able to sit through the ceremony, which will be approximately an hour.

We recommend that the live streaming room is more appropriate than the Swan for children under the age of 5 years old. If you decide your child(ren) will be able to sit through the ceremony (be it in the Swan or in the live streaming rom), they must hold a guest ticket if they are over 18 months or a lap seat ticket if they are under 18 months. All children under the age of 16 years old must be sat with an adult guest who also holds a guest ticket.

Guests are seated separately from the graduating students (this applies to tickets in the Swan and the live streaming room) and children must be supervised by a responsible adult guest throughout the ceremony (both in the Swan and in the live streaming room).

Children cannot be supervised by or sit with graduating students. If a graduating student attends on their own with children who must be accompanied by an adult (so children under the age of 16 years old), they will not be able to attend their ceremony as the children cannot be left unaccompanied and we do not offer a childcare facility.

Student ticket costs

Deadline: Please inform graduation by 12 noon Friday 7 June 2024.

If you object to the publication of your personal data (name and course title) in the graduation programme and on graduation merchandise, please ensure you have told us this in response to this question on the booking form when registering your attendance.

Should you need to email us regarding this, please email graduation@bucks.ac.uk and clearly mark your e-mail in the subject title with the words ‘I do not want my details published’.

If you are in the process of making an academic appeal, you can still graduate as long as you have been made an award of the University by the Board of Examiners. You must have been made your award by Thursday 27 June 2024 in order to be eligible to attend July 2024 graduation.

If you buy tickets and then find you have not been made an award of the University by the Board of Examiners, you will not be able to graduate. You will be eligible for a refund; please see the information below on this to ensure you do not miss the refund deadline.

You will not be made an award of the University by the Board of Examiners if you have any outstanding academic debt. This means you will not be able to graduate if you have any outstanding academic debt with the University. You are advised to clear any outstanding academic debt via epayments as soon as you can to ensure this doesn’t prevent you from being made an award of the University by the Board of Examiners and attending your ceremony.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you talk to our finance department about any outstanding payments and clear your account in full before graduation.

To find out more about your account and seek advice, please contact either the Student Centre on 01494 603 020 or thestudentcentre@bnu.ac.uk or the Finance Department on 01494 605 083.

Please do not take out any frustrations or disappointment you may have on staff as they are only doing their job.

Any children that attend graduation are the responsibility of the adults they are with, who should ensure they are supervised at all times. If children become loud during the graduation ceremony in the Swan Theatre, please take them out to the foyer so as not to disturb the ceremony.

The graduation ceremonies and celebrations are regarded as public events.

The University will be taking photographs and videos throughout the ceremonies and celebrations for use in future publications on the University's website and for marketing materials.
