Dr Rafid Al-Khannak
Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2015, I acquired industrial and academic experience in the engineering and IT sectors. I have great interest in engineering and IT operational research and development within the academic and industrial fields, especially in the fields of distributed systems, grid and cloud computing, software and hardware system operations, information systems, cyber and network security. I have published many papers in international journals and referred conferences.
I studied for my PhD at Bolton University, in cooperation with Siemens AG, and my specialist area of research is in Engineering and IT operational research and development.
I am a member of IEEE, FHEA and IAENG.
My specialist knowledge has led me to work with Amazon, Siemens AG/Germany, and Sun Microsystems, in cooperation and collaboration on research and academic projects such as AWS Academy.
My greatest accolade to date is achieving DAAD Best PhD project, ‘Most Inspiring Tutor’, the Vice Chancellor’s Award and the best MSc in my Project Management cohort.
