Buckinghamshire New University’s community offers our sincere condolences to the Royal Family following the announcement that Queen Elizabeth II has died.

We give thanks for her Majesty The Queen’s dedicated and loyal service during her 70-year reign. The University is flying the flags across our campuses at half-mast as a mark of our respect at this sad time.

The graduation ceremonies on Friday 9 September will go ahead as planned. A two minutes’ silence will be held during the ceremonies in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II.

As a mark of respect to the King and the Royal Family, Jay Blades MBE and the University have decided to postpone Jay’s investiture as Chancellor on Friday 9 September.

We will keep our students and staff updated as information is released about the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II, and any public holidays that may occur during the official mourning period.
