Historic pictures from Buckinghamshire New University’s High Wycombe Furniture Archive will be featured in episode 3 of the BBC show The Repair Shop at 4.30pm on Wednesday 8 July.

Greta Paa-Kerner, Head of Business Engagement at the University, said the archive was a popular furniture research tool, especially with Ercol and G-Plan enthusiasts, and she was 'excited' about seeing it featured.

She said: "The University is delighted to provide historic content for The Repair Shop.

"As an anchor institution within Buckinghamshire we are proud of the region’s worldwide reputation for furniture making and design.

"There are thousands of furniture enthusiasts and historians who visit our furniture archive regularly and we are pleased to be able to supply this great resource to so many.

"Viewers can also keep an eye out for our graduate Jay Blades, who studied Criminology and Philosophy at Bucks New University, and is a regular on the programme."

The Archive contains more than 10,000 pictures of everything from models of furniture, to manufacturing sites and practices, and the people who were behind High Wycombe's rich furniture heritage, as well as a wealth of details.

The Archive was created following a Resource Enhancement Grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
