BNU maintains top 10 position for teaching quality and rises five places in the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025

In the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025, BNU has retained its position of 10th best for teaching quality and risen five places in the overall rankings.

Professor Damien Page, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Buckinghamshire New University said:

"I want to pay tribute to the brilliant people at BNU who work tirelessly to support and deliver high quality teaching. Thanks to their hard work we’re delighted to retain our position of 10th best in the UK for overall teaching quality. We also achieved top-ten rankings for teaching quality across our course portfolio including for art & design; computer science; social work; sports science; nursing; and psychology with 1st places for both allied medicine and business, management and marketing. Allied medicine also achieved ranked 1st in the UK for student experience and graduate prospects.

“At BNU, we pride ourselves on providing an education for all that transforms lives. And so we’re delighted to perform strongly across the Guide’s measures of social inclusion, ranking 21st in the UK and 2nd in the South-East. We also maintained our rank of 4th best overall for our Black student awarding gap and remain determined to reduce this further still through our concerted efforts to ensure all our learners at BNU reach their full potential.”

BNU has the 3rd highest mature student population in the UK, according to the Guide.

In the new ‘People and Planet’ metric - introduced in 2023 as a measure of how well institutions meet ethical and environmental criteria - BNU ranked 80th and the institution also rose eight places for Graduate Prospects.
