Graduation: What do I need to do now?

Graduation registration is now open.

If you are due to complete your award this academic year you are invited to attend graduation.

1. Register your Attendance or Non-attendance (Essential)

DEADLINE - Booking deadline has now passed and main registration is closed, however additional tickets may be available, see ceremony dates and times section for further details.

In order to attend your graduation you are required to complete an on-line RSVP prior to graduation week to confirm if you want to attend or graduate In Absentia– see link above. Whilst completing the online RSVP you have the opportunity to purchase tickets.

If you studied at a BNU campus (High Wycombe, Uxbridge, Aylesbury or Pinewood) there is no charge for your ticket to attend. If you studied at a partner college campus then there is a £10 charge for your ticket.

You can also go back into your registration to purchase your guest tickets at a later time.

To register you need to follow the link above and log on using your student ID number and date of birth. Once logged on, the booking system will tell you which ceremony you have been allocated to and you can register your attendance or confirm that you will not be attending (you will then graduate 'in absentia').

If the system says it can’t validate your details then please contact the graduation team via graduation@bucks.ac.uk or 01494 603091.

You are eligible to attend graduation this year if you have either already received your results and passed your course in this academic year or you are expected to receive your result before 31st July 2022.

We strongly recommend you register to attend to ensure your space even if you have not received your results yet.

If for any reason you don’t receive your results or fail to achieve the award for which you enrolled by 31st July 2022 then we will be able to cancel/refund your booking. You must have been made an award to attend graduation. Those with referral work to complete over the summer will be refunded and offered a place at the next available graduation ceremony in 2023.

Once you have begun to register and purchase your tickets you have to follow the process through to the end, or the transaction will not be completed.

Tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability.

Your registration and guest ticket purchases will be confirmed by email. If you do not receive an email you may not be registered. Please check your clutter or spam folders for the email before you contact the Graduation team. Ticket confirmation e-mails will come from the sender e-store@bucks.ac.uk.

The booking system will inform you which ceremony you will be attending, and the date and time, when you enter your student ID number and date of birth.

Special access requirements:

During the booking process you will be asked if you, the student, have any access or mobility requirements which may affect your participation in the ceremony. For further information on access requirements please see Further information for students and guests.

2. Book your Guest Tickets

DEADLINE - TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED BY 12noon on Wednesday 3rd August

You are advised to book and pay for your guest tickets when you register. Each student can initially purchase up to two guest tickets for those from partner colleges and three guest tickets for those BNU students who studied at High Wycombe, Uxbridge, Aylesbury or Pinewood.

Tickets are:

  • Adult (15 and above) £16
  • Child (2-14) £12
  • Baby (under 2) free – will need to sit on an adult guest’s lap.

The ceremony may not be suitable for infants and young children, however if you decide to bring them they must hold a ticket. If purchasing a child or baby ticket there must also be an adult guest present. Guests are seated separately from the graduands and children must be supervised by a responsible adult guest throughout the ceremony. We will not issue a child or baby ticket without an adult guest ticket also being purchased. A baby under 2 is free but must still be issued with a ticket.

Additional tickets, above your initial allocation may be available for your ceremony. These will be announced once the main booking period has closed via e-mail and the University website. We do not hold a waiting list for additional tickets, they will be offered on a first come first served basis from 12noon on Friday 5th August if available.

We will try to ensure family groups sit together although we cannot guarantee this if your guests require special access or you purchase additional tickets late in the process. Should you wish separate seating for guests in different parts of the theatre, please let us know and we will try to accommodate this.

Your guest ticket purchases will be confirmed by e-mail. If you do not receive an e-mail the tickets may not have been successfully purchased. Please check clutter and spam folders before you contact the graduation team. E-mails will come from the sender e-store@bucks.ac.uk.
