Graduation 2020: What do I need to do now?
Graduation registration is now open. If you completed your award between 1September 2019 - 20 August 2020 you are invited to attend graduation as part of the graduating class of 2020 and should receive an e-mail inviting you to register. If you are eligible to graduate this year and have not received your e-mail, don't panic. You can still register.
DEADLINE - You must register your attendance by midnight, 8 August 2021.
Students will not be able to attend their ceremony if they have not registered before the deadline.
To register you need to follow the link below and log on using your student ID number and date of birth.
Once logged on, you will know which ceremony you will be attending and you can register your attendance or confirm that you will not be attending (you will then graduate 'in absentia').
Once you have begun to register and purchase your tickets you have to follow the process through to the end, or the transaction will not be completed.
Guest tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis and are subject to availability.
YOUR REGISTRATION AND GUEST TICKET PURCHASES WILL BE CONFIRMED BY EMAIL. IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE AN EMAIL YOU MAY NOT BE REGISTERED. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CLUTTER OR SPAM FOLDERS FOR THE EMAIL BEFORE YOU CONTACT THE GRADUATION TEAM.
In absentia If you register as 'in absentia' your name will still appear in the programme, but it won’t be read out on the day as part of the ceremony.
Special access requirements - DEADLINE - 8 AUGUST 2021
During the booking process you will be asked if you, the student, have any access or mobility requirements which may affect your participation in the ceremony. Please note during the ceremony you will cross the stage in the Swan Theatre. You will be required to go up 6 steps and then down 6 steps on the other side of the stage. Both sets of steps have a handrail on the right side. Alternative access to the stage will be arranged for you if required, so please include a brief description of your requirements and we will contact you a couple of weeks before the ceremony to discuss how we will assist you.
DEADLINE - TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED BY MIDNIGHT, 8 August 2021.
You are advised to book and pay for your guest tickets when you register. Each student can initially purchase up to three guest tickets. Additional tickets may be available to purchase after the 8th August subject to availability and will be on a first come first served basis.

DEADLINE - 18 AUGUST 2021
Book your gown from Thursday 17 June 2021
DO NOT BOOK YOUR GOWN UNTIL YOU HAVE REGISTERED YOUR ATTENDANCE. If you book a gown and have not registered your attendance you will not be able to attend the ceremony.
There is a hire charge for academic gowns to students. This applies to all students. You must book your gown through Ede & Ravenscroft to ensure you wear the correct gown and have the right size. Your gown and hood will automatically be selected for you when you enter your student ID. You must wear the correct gown for the University and your award. If you are not gowned correctly you will not be allowed to cross the stage at the ceremony.
You can also book your gown hire with Ede & Ravenscroft by calling 01223 861 854 and you must book it well in advance of your graduation day.
Please remember to bring your Ede & Ravenscroft gown hire confirmation on the day of your ceremony.
Please note: PhDs are awards of Coventry or Staffordshire University.
Returning your gown
You must return your gown to the designated place on campus by 5.30pm on the day of your ceremony.
Cancelling your gown
If you are unable to attend your ceremony after placing an order for gown hire, you must contact Ede & Ravenscroft at least seven working days before the date of the ceremony to cancel your order.
DEADLINE - 18 AUGUST 2021
You will be able to have professional photographs taken on the day by Ede & Ravenscroft; however to avoid the queues we recommend that you pre-book your photographs with Ede & Ravenscroft at gownhire.co.uk or call 01223 861 854. By pre-booking online you will benefit from a discounted rate. The photographers will be situated at the High Wycombe campus each day. We recommend you arrive early and have your photos taken before the ceremony.
Photographs taken on stage
Ede and Ravenscroft photographers will be taking photos of each graduand as they cross the stage. Those who have pre-booked their gown hire will automatically receive an email from Ede and Ravenscroft after their Graduation giving instructions on how to access and purchase their photo. Those who do not pre-book can still view and purchase the stage photos by emailing email@example.com stating the date of their ceremony and the name of the university.
Please remember to bring your Ede & Ravenscroft pre-booked photography confirmation with you.
Once the University receives the visa request, a letter on University headed paper, addressed to the relevant British High Commission or Embassy confirming your eligibility to graduate, will be sent to you.
Please allow plenty of time for your visa request to be dealt with by the High Commission or British Embassy as in some cases it can take several weeks to process a visa application.
The graduation ceremonies are regarded as public events. The University will be taking photographs throughout the ceremonies for use in future publications on the University's website and for marketing materials.
Student names and IDs will be made available to Ede & Ravenscroft to enable them to issue the gowns. This information will be destroyed by Ede & Ravenscroft after the ceremonies.
Any data relating to special access that you share with us to help plan the day is kept in the strictest confidence.
In addition, Student names and the course title (including those graduating in absentia) are published in the graduation programme and may be on graduation merchandise; however your degree classification is not published.

If you object to the publication of your personal data (name and course title) in the graduation programme and on graduation merchandise please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

By default, the University will use the legal name that you used when enrolling on your course in the printed programme and when announcing your name during the ceremony. If your name has changed or you formally use a different name, please email email@example.com before 8 August to request an amendment.
You are advised to clear any outstanding debts via https://epayment.bucks.ac.uk/ as soon as you can.
You will be sent a statement of your account during the final term. It is your responsibility to ensure that you talk to our finance department about any outstanding payments and clear your account in full before graduation.
