Our visual design and communication courses are known for pushing boundaries, taking risks and most importantly thinking outside the box. Set up like a working agency our Creative Advertising, Graphic Design and Illustration degree’s sit under one roof, meaning before you’ve even graduated you’ll have made a network with; designers, Illustrators, copywriters, art workers, creatives and even strategists

Our fancy new studios feature everything you’ll need to bring ideas to life, from rows of macs and the adobe creative suite, to chalk board walls for you to scribble and scamp on. You’ll also find breakout rooms where you’ll be able to work on group projects and bounce ideas. As well as all this you’ll also have access to our Art and Design studios, photography studios, and technical experts. Situated just downstairs from your studio you’ll be able to find printmaking facilities, Mimaki digital and heat-transfer printing for fabric and a laser cutter.

It’s not only our facilities that make BNU the place to be, our alumni and network of industry-professionals is where the real magic happens. Our visiting guests will help develop you as individuals, helping you think in different ways and voice your opinions for effect. They will also help you will gain insights into the industry, letting you in on all the must-knows and of course the number one rule – “Don’t be a [insert profanity here]."

With the big smoke only 30 minutes away, London is home to some of the biggest advertising and design agencies, publishing houses, inspiration-boosting museums and art galleries. Meaning it makes us easier to get you in front of professionals for live briefs, workshops, award shows and even placements.

Students are also encouraged to get involved with industry awards, including D&AD New Blood and Creative Conscience Awards. All this adds to the employability of our students. 2022 saw our students bring home two D&AD New Blood Pencils.
