What Happens at an Open Day?
Open Day - this is a day you do not want to miss. It involves so much more than you would think. On this day, you will receive the opportunity to discover more about your dream course, or if you are unsure, this is the best option to learn about what courses are on offer and become more informed about what works best for you.
You will be given a chance to speak and meet the course team and get any questions or queries you may have answered. Some of the questions might be: how much contact do I get with the teaching team, how many days do I have off a week? or what are the opportunities after university? The course team would be delighted to answer your questions, and support you on this journey of finding the right course for you.
At some point during the day, you will be given the opportunity to go on a campus tour. Campus tours are designed for you to see the university and what facilities you would have available to you while studying at BNU. You’ll also have the opportunity to go on an accommodation tour, this is a great way to get a feel for what could be your new home.
One popular topic that we see lots of questions about are finance, the admissions process and student support. Here at BNU our Open Days you’ll have the opportunity to speak to these teams, or one of our friendly Student Ambassadors who can help give you advice and support with these key areas.
During the event, if you would like, you can chat with current students and get more in depth details about their university life, how they balance study, work and socialising, or even part-time job opportunities. When it comes to socialising, BNU is the place to be; our Students’ Union has been rated in the top 2 in the UK (NSS 2022) and all of our activities are free, thanks to the Big Deal scheme.
Our jam-packed Open Days are a key part in making these big decisions, like ‘can I see myself studying here?’ and ‘Is this the course for me’. On the day you’ll get a feel for the university, see everything that’s on offer, meet our community and decide if BNU is where you want to belong.
