Tajudeen Arogundade

Biography

I was working as quantity surveyor before beginning my nursing career. I joined Buckinghamshire New University as an associate lecturer and lecturer in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Prior to this, I was working with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and as physical health of mental health patients lead. I moved to Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust in 2017, working as a clinical charge nurse and then as acting ward manager.

I studied for my PGDip in Obesity and Weight Management and BSc in Mental Health Nursing at University of South Wales, Wales and University of Greenwich, London and my specialist area of interest is physical health of people with severe mental illness. It is interesting because of the skills gap in managing this client group.

I am a member of Nursing and Midwifery Council.

I am developing my specialist knowledge in inter-relationship between physical health and mental health through scholarly research.

My career highlight is my transformation from clinical practice nurse to making career progress in academia.
