Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2014, I built my career in marketing working for international brands including Canon UK, in various marketing and product management roles. My career focus then moved from the client side to an agency environment, handling accounts ranging from corporate clients to the not for profit sector.
I studied for my degree at Plymouth Polytechnic and went on to gain an International Master’s in Business Administration whilst working at Buckinghamshire New University. My research focussed on the evolving role of data in understanding the customer and the importance of data privacy in modern marketing practice. It is interesting because marketing, as a business discipline, is in a period of exponential change as consumers increasingly adopt to using digital technology.
The emphasis within the Business School is to ensure delivery of a contemporary ‘real-world’ view of the marketing subject discipline. A highlight of my time at BNU has been working with established brands including Jack Daniels, Hovis and Sacla to provide live briefs for students to develop the employability skills required for a future working in the marketing field.
I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
