Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2020, I was Course Leader on the BA (Hons) Interior Design programme at Solent University. For the last 26 years I have been a lecturer within the areas of design as well as successfully running my own space planning and energy efficient refurbishment businesses. I am passionate about design for health and wellbeing, particularly the area of healthy productive working environments.
I graduated from Brighton University with a BA (Hons) in 3D Interior Design, and then went on to gain a PGCE in Design and Technology at Bristol University. After this I gained a Master’s in Interior Design from Portsmouth University in 2013.
I am a panel member of the SBID Healthcare Council and educational member of The Society of British and International Design (SBID), while also standing as Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (FHEA) and Interior Educators follower since 2007.
My research interests include sustainable daylight systems, interior environments relating to issues of health and wellbeing and the use of large areas of glazing for iconic buildings and the sustainable implications it creates.
