Before I joined Buckinghamshire New University in 2002, I worked as a practice educator. I assisted in optimising learning experiences for the students and staff within their placements, also sharing the responsibility for supporting and enhancing the quality of learning environments. I have also taught clinical skills at the University of Hertfordshire.
After I qualified as a nurse, I worked in both a medical and an orthopaedic ward until I was promoted to a charge nurse. For a period of time, I also worked as an occupational health and safety officer in Mauritius.
I hold a Professional Doctorate in Nursing, Master’s and Diploma in Higher Education with NMC level one registration in general nursing. I also have a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and Management as well as a certificate in E-Learning and Health Promotion.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of HEA, Royal College of Nursing, Nursing and Midwifery Council and UCU.
My specialist areas of interest are compassion, forgiveness and orthopaedic nursing.
