Preyvinkumar Sookun

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2001, I was a Community Nurse for people with learning disabilities and a Clinical Nurse for North London Forensic Service. Prior to this, I worked with people with learning disabilities in a variety of roles and settings.

The main highlight of my career has been taking the leadership role for the Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care, having started as a link tutor to support prequalifying nurses on their learning disabilities insight placements.

I studied for my RNLD at Hertfordshire University and for my BSc (Hons) in Social Science with Social Psychology at the Open University. My MA was completed at Buckinghamshire New University in 2012 and my specialist area of research has been the learning experience of students in Higher Education.

I am a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
