Staff Profile

Dr Maurice Gledhill
Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 1987, I was working in teacher training. I have been involved in training teachers for every stage of education from primary to University.
I have studied and gained qualifications from institutions in England and Wales which span the spectrum of modern Higher Education, beginning with my BS (Hons) in Computer Studies and Physics at the University of Hull, and most recently my EdD (Doctor of Education) from Leeds Metropolitan University. My main interest and research focus has throughout been on education, looking at how good educational principles might be embedded in our work.
I am a Fellow (AdvanceHE) (FHEA).
I have worked across a range of projects, usually combining education, business and information systems. This has included working on the design and information system for use in a letting company in the tourism industry, working for an advertising agency and a medical supplies company. Having been a Chief Examiner in A Level Computing, I later became an External Examiner for a University Teacher Training Programme.
I have written book chapters on work-based learning, and this has been an enduring interest. More recently I have developed an expertise in running Undergraduate Dissertations, for both full time and part time students.
