Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2022, I was a Senior Lecturer in Children’s Nursing at Swansea University. I originally qualified as a children’s nurse in 1997 and have worked in a variety of clinical areas since that time. My most recent clinical role was as a School Nurse in Wales before becoming a lecturer in 2017.

I completed my pre-registration children’s nursing education at Cardiff University, and I returned there in 2009 to complete my MSc in Advanced Practice. In 2016 I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (School Nursing) at the University of South Wales and my PGCE at Swansea University in 2018. My specialist areas include public health nursing, safeguarding children & adults practice, children’s outpatient’s management and specialist continence management related to nocturnal enuresis.

I am a registered with the NMC and a member of the RCN. I hold Fellowship Status with the HEA and have previously served on the board of the Upsilon Xi at large chapter of Sigma – the Honour Society of Nursing. My career highlight to date has been presenting at an international nursing research conference in Portugal around interprofessional collaboration in developing safeguarding children skills for practice.
