Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2019, I worked in a specialist sports injury clinic in Brighton and Hove where I worked with a variety of professional and amateur athletes, in addition to previously running my own Sports Therapy practice.

I studied for my MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health at University College London, and my BSc (Hons) in Sports and Dance Therapy at London Metropolitan University and I am a member of the Society of Sports Therapists. My specialist area of interest is Dance Medicine. I feel that dancers pose an interesting challenge to the sports medicine team when it comes to injury prevention, management and effective rehabilitation, due to the unique blend of artistry and athleticism, alongside rigorous training and performance schedules.

My specialist knowledge has led me to work with professional dancers from the Royal Ballet Company and The Royal Ballet School and to provide stage side support for professional companies, including the Cuban Contemporary Dance Company “Danza Contemporanea de Cuba”. I have also undertaken research projects at London Contemporary Dance School and the Royal Ballet.

My greatest career highlight was providing stage side support to Carlos Acosta’s company “Acosta Danza”, during part of their UK tour. I look forward to helping our students create their future highlights by their successes on our course.
