For nine years I managed Sabre Airline Solutions in southern Europe, working with airlines such as Alitalia, Aegean, El Al, Vueling, Air Malta and Turkish Airlines. My background in the industry includes a senior commercial role in Alitalia’s distribution company and several consulting engagements on aviation and tourism topics. Prior to that, I was a management consultant with Accenture and with strategy house Bain & Co for a total of eight years, working with blue chip clients such as ENI, TIM, Atlantia, HP and Unicredit.
My main areas of interest revolve around the evolution of business models for commercial airlines, and the use of data and IT to improve airline’s business and enhance customer experience. I regularly contribute my views on the aviation industry to international media.
In parallel to my academic work, I am active as a business consultant and media entrepreneur. I am the co-founder and chief-editor of www.londraitalia.com and a mentor to new start-ups through the Techitalia:Lab incubator. As a journalist, I am the author of hundreds of articles and interviews and a member of the Foreign Press Association in London.
I hold a degree in Statistical and Economic Sciences from the University of Palermo (cum laude) and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands.
