Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2016, I was a project co-ordinator at Age UK London, managing the London Minority Ethnic Elders Project. I was also a visiting lecturer in sociology at the University of Westminster.

I studied for my PhD at University of Sheffield where I developed interest in child labour and rights of the child in developing countries. Since then I have developed further interests in issues of violence against children, environmental justice and sustainable development.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

My specialist knowledge has led me to work with NHS local authorities, and develop partnerships with academics from other universities on projects such as chastisement of children from BME families; water, sanitation and sustainable energy in Africa.
