Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2014, I was a staff nurse on a neurosurgical, neuro-medical and orthopaedic wards, later moving to positions in ITU, CCU and a transplant unit, then becoming Sister in ITU for 7 years.

I studied for my MA in professional, personal and work-related learning at the University of Hertfordshire. My specialist areas of interest are mentorship, diabetes, recognising the deteriorating patient and dolphin assisted therapies. I find diabetes particularly interesting as it is a fast developing and important area where through good education the effects of type 2 diabetes can be reduced.

I am a member of HEA, RCN.

My greatest accolade to date is my participation in international conferences and implemented short courses but most important for me is that my students feel well supported and have learnt and enjoyed their studies.
