Careers advice for disabled students


We are a member of SKILL, the National Bureau for Students with Disabilities. Our students and graduates have access to the Disabled Graduates Careers Information which is run by SKILL.
 
A wide range of information on education and training, employers and employment is available from the Careers and Employability Team.  
 
Employment/work experience

There are a wide range of organisations and companies who can offer advice and information on work experience, placements and access to field trips.

Disability Toolkits
– helps students to access and manage off-campus learning activities such as placements and field trips.

Disability Alliance – provides information on training and gives advice on applying for benefit entitlements.

Employ-ability.org.uk - employment opportunities for disabled and dyslexic students & graduates.

Four all – is a database designed to help media companies working with Channel 4 to employ more disabled peopleregistration on the database is required.
 
Extend – run by the BBC, Extend offers a work placement scheme for graduate disabled students.

Disability Network
– is a website with advertisements for public and private sector jobs.
 
Prospects – provides information on careers and holds a range of job information and availability.

Disability Jobsite
- assists disabled people to participate actively in employment and play a critical role in supporting disabled people 
on the pathway to work.
