High Wycombe
If you are looking for some retail therapy while you’re studying at Bucks, you won’t be short of choice. There has recently been an extensive re-development of the town centre which brings us the Eden complex – one of the most anticipated new shopping and leisure destinations in the country. There are big named high street shops, a 12-screen cinema, bowling alley, library, exclusive restaurants and much more. You can visit the
Eden shopping website for further information.
Alternatively you can visit the
Chilterns Shopping Centre, also in our town centre, where there is a Primark store and Wilkinson’s for all those essentials. Just out of town there’s also a John Lewis Home and Leisure store which ranks as the largest retail unit in the whole of the Chilterns.
Every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, there’s a bustling market in the high street with some 110 different stalls.
If this all sounds a little bit mainstream for you, don’t panic! You might like to try Ruby Moon in Castle Street, near the train station. From incense and carvings through to Goth, punk and street clothing, the shop claims to “put a bit of fun into Wycombe”, you can find out more by visiting the
Ruby Moon website.
Uxbridge
There are two main shopping centres in Uxbridge just a short walk from the Uxbridge Campus, as well as the town centre and direct access to central London on the London underground.
The Chimes Centre is a modern shopping centre located in the heart of Uxbridge. The centre provides 76 stores under one roof, here you will discover excellent shopping, a nine screen Odeon cinema and 11 restaurants, cafes and bars.
The second shopping centre is
The Mall which is situated in the heart of the town centre which has all the usual names you would expect from a location so close to central London.
