Facilities for hire

Bucks New University’s audio and music facilities include state of the art recording studios, ranging from individual edit rooms up to large Pro Tools HD studios with attached live rooms and vocal booths.

Studio one boasts an Avid D-Command control surface and Focusrite ISA828 microphone preamps. Studios two and three are based around Digidesign Control|24 and C|24 surfaces respectively. The live booths are equipped with microphone preamps from Focusrite and Digidesign.

Our microphone stock includes Neumann, AKG, Shure, Rode and Electrovoice. Studio monitoring includes 5.1 systems by Genelec and stereo systems by KRK.

Audio recording options
Our impressive recording centre is comprised of four fully equipped control rooms, plus two large, linked live rooms, as well as three live vocal/ overdub booths.

Recording studio 1
Studio 1 is 38m2 in size and is connected to a 48m2 live area and a 18m2 live booth. Other live rooms and booths can be connected by prior arrangement with the Studio Manager. The control room has sight lines to Studio 3, Live Rooms 1 & 2, and Live Booths 1 & 3.

• KRK VXT6 nearfield monitors
• 3x Focusrite ISA828 microphone preamps (24 channels)

• Digidesign sync HD
• Drawmer valve EQ
• TL Audio valve compressor.

Recording Studio 2
Studio 2 has a control room of 38m2 and is connected to a 48m2 live area. The control room has sight lines to Studios 1 & 2, and Live Booths 1, 2 & 3.

The studio includes:

• Digidesign C|24 control surface desk
• Genelec 5.1 Surround monitoring system
• KRK VXT6 nearfield monitors
• Mac Pro 2.5Ghz Quad Core 2GB RAM
• Pro Tools HD2 Accel
• 2x Digidesign 96 converters.

Plugins include:

• Focusrite Liquid Mix HD
• Izotope Ozone
• Izotope Trash
• Izotope Spectron
• Antares Auto Tune 5.

Recording Studio 3
Studio 3 has a control room of 25m2 and is connected to a 20m2 live area. Other live rooms and booths can be connected by prior arrangement with the studio Manager. The control room has sight lines to Studio 1 and Live Room 1. The studio also includes a Digidesign Control 24 control surface desk.

Recording Studio 4
Studio 4 (18m2) includes:

• Digidesign Control 24 control surface desk
• Genelec stereo monitors
• Mac Pro G5 2Ghz dual core 1GB RAM
• Pro Tools HD2 Accel
• Digidesign 96 converter.

Project suites
We also have two project suites, each containing a Digidesign Digi002 control surface, KRK RP6 G2 monitors, Mac Pro G5 2Ghz dual core 1GB RAM, and Pro Tools LE8.
