The School of Social Sciences, Primary Care and Education offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, diplomas, short courses and study days which support the preparation and development of the workforce in the public, independent and voluntary sectors, including:
• Social WorkThe majority of the courses offered in the School are professionally accredited, approved and regulated by bodies such as the General Social Care Council, the Nursing & Midwifery Council, the British Psychological Society, Life Long Learning UK, and the Higher Education Academy.
The courses within the School are taught by a range of academics, many of whom have moved from senior professional practice posts to support the development of the workforce from an academic setting. We pride ourselves in keeping in close contact with the practice environment and we work with prospective employers to ensure that our courses are entirely focused on and relevant to supporting evidence based practice and the development of a highly skilled and competent workforce.
