Waste reduction
Bucks New University currently recycles:
The waste management working group will be looking to reduce the University’s current total annual waste (1127 tonnes) as well as increasing the proportion of this waste that is recycled, currently 247 tonnes, or 22%.
Wood chip waste is produced by the University from its furniture workshops and is currently collected for incineration off site. Installation of a biomass boiler will be considered to improve on-campus waste reduction and heating energy production.
