Power reduction
The opportunity for Bucks New University to undertake major new build and refurbishment programmes over the last three years has enabled many energy efficient systems to be incorporated within the estate. These include:
- Energy efficient lamps and lighting systems with presence or absence detection and daylight dimming, as required
- Up to 80% heat/cooling recovery from ventilation systems
- Variable speed pumps that reduce energy requirements under different loads
- Highly efficient air heat pumps
- Sub-metering and monitoring of all systems with a building management computer system
- Automatic shut-down of computers via software.
