Corporate identity


Our corporate identity is designed to reflect not only our name, but what we stand for as an institution. The 'new' in our name reflects our aim to be a new generation university, one that is externally-facing and forward-looking, continually renewing its thinking to keep up with a rapidly changing world. The name reflects the culture and ethos of our institution - modern, vibrant, dynamic, innovative and original.

Our corporate identity also reflects the University’s vibrancy and dynamism. The logo consists of a roundel and logotype. At the centre of our logo, there is a focal point, the University’s focus - the student. The roundel suggests dynamic movement, indicating the University’s desire to always be open to fresh ideas and thinking. The logotype, ‘bucks new university’, reflects the University’s approach – open, aspirational, but not elitist.

The full name, Buckinghamshire New University, is used on formal documents, such as certificates, and letter-headings. We use the shorter form Bucks New University in some circumstances, for instance in marketing materials. ‘Bucks’ rather than BNU is used as the abbreviated form of our name; we use bucks.ac.uk as our web address, and ‘bucks’ in our email addresses.

Please note that you must read the Brand Guidelines before downloading the logos, and that all usage must be approved by the Directorate of Strategic Marketing & Communications. Incorrect usage will detract from the strength of the branding.
