Faculties
At Bucks, we’re firmly focused on working
effectively with employers and preparing students for
employment. We're also keen to encourage interaction between
students and employees working in different disciplines, and have
therefore organised our provision into two broad areas:
Design, Media &
Management
This innovative faculty combines a range of disciplines
spanning the creative and cultural industries, servicing public and
private sector organisations and integrating a range of diverse
disciplines. The faculty specialises in the creation of niche
programmes focusing on specific employability skills tailored to
the needs of a variety of industry sectors.
The delivery of traditional design and make skills alongside
cutting-
edge technology, and linking with bespoke
management programmes, makes this faculty both engaging and
contemporary in its approach. Design, Media & Management is
student-centred and provides a range of teaching methods through a
flexible and distributed delivery model. As well as traditional
three-year degree programmes there is a focus on foundation degrees
with industry partners, enterprise activities and postgraduate and
professional courses.
Society &
Health
We’re able to offer a
wide variety of programmes that are geared towards the needs of NHS
and health workers in the independent sector. In nursing, for
instance, both pre-registration and post-registration courses are
on offer and there is a substantial choice of undergraduate and
postgraduate study available.
We also join forces with partner higher
education institutions on social work programmes and provide a
range of academic teaching in the social sciences, involving
combinations of psychology, criminology, sociology and police
studies. Relevant degrees in psychology are accredited by the
British Psychological Society.
