Directorates
The New University has a range of
directorates. You can read a short summary of their roles
below and click on the relevant link to the left if you’re
interested in learning more.
The Business Planning
Directorate is to support the Vice-Chancellor &
the Senior Management Team in making strategic decisions to fulfil
the University Strategic Plan.
The Enterprise Directorate
forms the hub of our services to businesses, individual
entrepreneurs both students and staff, public and voluntary sector
organisations.
The Finance
Directorate supports the university college to
achieve its strategic business aims.
The Human Resources
Directorate provides advice for management
and emloyees on all personnel issues and health and safety
matters. Bucks is committed to the personal and professional
development of our staff, ensuring a safe and caring work
environment.
The IT Directorate is responsible for
providing all hardware and software used across the university,
with the exception of specialist facilities in the Faculty of
Creativity and Culture. This includes both desktop machines and
software, and the applications systems used across the university
for both business and academic purposes, such as the QL corporate
systems and the Blackboard Virtual Learning Environment. It is also
responsible for the underpinning network infrastructure.
The
Marketing, Communications
& Recruitment Directorate is responsible for
developing and maintaining the Bucks New University brand, for
student recruitment strategy and for media relations. It also has a
mission to widen access and improve retention of students. As
a result, it brings together a range of services from within the
university and outside that support links with the community and
schools in the region.
The Student & Academic Services
Directorate is the central support department for
Bucks. It has responsibility for a range of student services
as well as those essential for academic and associated staff.
Campus and Facilities provide a wide
range of facilities for students and emloyees, including room
support, catering, accommodation and travel information. They also
offer business services including facilities for commercial
conferences, weddings and residential summer schools.
